Purpose Of This Policy
The purpose of this safeguarding policy is to help protect children and young people from harm and to make sure that everyone involved with DUAL understands their responsibility to act appropriately, raise concerns and promote welfare.
Who This Policy Applies To
- Children and young people using DUAL Strength + Fitness.
- Parents, carers and guardians.
- Coaches, personal trainers, staff, contractors and volunteers.
- Anyone delivering or supervising activity involving young people at DUAL.

- All children should be treated with dignity, fairness and respect.
- Concerns should be taken seriously and acted on appropriately.
- Staff and coaches should work in a professional and transparent way.
- Parents and carers should feel able to raise questions or concerns.

Safeguarding concerns may include, but are not limited to:
- Bullying, harassment or intimidation.
- Inappropriate behaviour by adults or other young people.
- Neglect, emotional harm, physical harm or sexual harm.
- Unsafe coaching, supervision or training practices.
- Anything that makes a child or parent feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Reporting A Concern
Any safeguarding concern should be reported promptly. Where there is an immediate risk of harm, emergency services should be contacted without delay.
- For immediate danger, call 999.
- For non-emergency safeguarding concerns, contact DUAL directly.
- Concerns will be treated seriously and handled as sensitively as possible.
Professional Conduct
Staff, coaches and trainers working with young people are expected to behave professionally, maintain appropriate boundaries and avoid situations that could compromise safety or trust.
Parents & Guardians
Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak to us if they have questions about supervision, training, behaviour, access arrangements or any concern relating to a child’s welfare.
Policy Review
This policy should be reviewed regularly and updated where necessary to reflect changes in guidance, staffing, activities or safeguarding requirements.
